In 2006, Gu named Kwan-yin Tattoo for his new Studio in Shanghai, because of his belief in Buddhism.

Gu is very fortunate in that his client base is very trusting of him and for the large part, quite willing to give him almost total free reign on their skin. Naturally,tattoo 上海tattoohe’s taken advantage of this and allowed the subject matter of his paintings to leak across into his tattooing. A certain amount of openness to newness exists because of the client's input, which prevents him from obsessively orbiting the same idea for ever and ever.
Kwan-yin tattoo is a custom shop with the sole purpose of providing a forum for the progression of tattooing. One step inside the door，his dedication to art and to

balance becomes very clear. On the walls of his studio you can find his paintings and handwritings here and there. Gu always pays religious attention to every client and his art career life.

Tattoo Artist

Mr. Gu’s talent in painting was discovered when he was 7 years old by an old folk-painter who taught him Chinese new year painting and other traditional Chinese paintings. Gu’s paintings, especially dragon and fish paintings, are well-kwon in his hometown.
Gu began tattooing in Jilin Province in 1997, and opened his first studio in 1998. A rolling stone himself, Gu can’t stop moving. In 2004, after devoting nearly 7 years of his life to the art of tattoo, he was introduced to John, the first tattoo artist in Shanghai. Then Gu moved to Shanghai and became a full time tattoo artist at Johns and he has honed his skills dramatically since that time. His works were featured by Yuanhang Tattoo Magazine for several times.
